Global Underwater Explorers is one of the newest and most self promoting of the dive training organizations. Their training curriculum is culled from years of WKPP exploration diving in which "common sense" suddenly became "Doing it Right". The training and diving concepts are rock solid, but unfortunately, a nasty cult like fanaticism sprang up around DIR. According to the fanatics, cave divers from other training orgainzations risk polluting the aquifers iof the world with their rotting corpses because they lack GUE training, don't use the Halcyon brand or configure their gear "differently". My advice is to make friends, listen & learn from everyone, just don't drink the grape Kool-aid! (ref. 1978 Reverend Jim Jones)
